There are many non surgical skin tightening options. Some, of course, work better than others. Here’s a look at your options and how effective they are.

Fish Oil

If you are not already taking a daily fish oil supplement, you are among the minority. It is one of the best selling dietary supplements on the market. The health benefits to the heart, joints and digestive system have been well studied.

It is collagen production that fades scars and stretch marks gradually over time. Increasing collagen production may be effective for non surgical skin tightening, because it is also what causes the skin’s layers to tighten up after a weight loss.

Some of the research has been conducted concerning the benefits for faster healing times and reduced scarring. One study showed an improvement in sun damaged skin. Another showed a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles.

The effectiveness of the various peptide complexes on the market varies. One that you might want to avoid is argireline. It is advertised as a Botox alternative and a non surgical skin tightening ingredient. The problem is that it has not been tested for safety.

It is supposed to work by relaxing the tiny facial muscles. The FDA says that makes it a drug, rather than a cosmetic ingredient. Drugs must be tested thoroughly before they are released on the market. Loopholes in the law allow cosmetic companies to use ingredients that have not been tested for safety.

Antioxidants

Antioxidant rich creams have been used for non surgical skin tightening for at least a decade. Different ones that have been tried include vitamin C, vitamin A (retinol) and vitamin E.

The latest studies indicate that the most effective is coenzyme Q10. When the molecules are reduced in size to allow for the deepest penetration possible, creams containing COQ10 can stimulate collagen production, reduce wrinkles and repair sun damage.

The best non surgical skin tightening creams contain protein peptides and antioxidants, as well as other beneficial ingredients. You should be able to see the results.
