PSP Game Download Secrets

by Tim J Daniels

Even though the PSP has been on sale for quite a while now, one of the questions that still plagues the forums I contribute to is whether it is possible to download free PSP games.

I’m going to do my best to set the record straight in this article because there is a lot of misleading advice floating around the internet and as a result, many people who have followed it have been the victims not only of fraud but also of viruses and spyware that have been passed on whilst attempting to download games from a group of well known PSP websites.

I was reading one of these ’scam reports’ last week that talked about a number of consumers that have unfortunately been forced to have their computers ‘re-formatted’ after being infected with a certain virus and as I’m sure you’re aware, this happens to be a similar expense as buying a new PSP!

It’s the same thing both online and offline; wherever there is popularity, there are people who illegally try to take advantage; and the world of the PSP is no different!

Even so, you shouldn’t be put off by these stories because with the correct guidance you’ll save a huge amount of money if you know how to find reputable websites that offer this service. In fact, you’ll never have to pay for another game ever again if you follow the few simple steps I’m about to lay out.

The story is that over the past month, I’ve been doing some in-depth research on the PSP download topic and have come across a few things that you must watch out for before you even attempt to look for websites that offer free PSP games.

1. To begin with, it is crucial to be able to recognize a rogue PSP site if you want to keep you computer from being infected. As with anything online, the general rule is, if it sounds too good to be true then it probably is!

If you visit a website that immediately bombards you with pop-overs, pop-ups, pop-unders and those flashy banners which say ‘You’re the 1,000,000 visitor - click here to claim your free laptop’ it’s a pretty good indication that you should look elsewhere.

I even came across a number of sites that claimed that the only action you had to take to access the downloads was to enter your name, phone number and email address into a subscription form. Well, no prizes what’s going to happen after you do that. Spam anyone!?

Another thing you must look for is the contact page of the PSP website to locate the websites company name and address. I’m not an expert on this but I assume to obtain a legally sound license to sell such a large variety of PSP games, you need to be a reputable company with a large cash flow. A licence like this certainly won’t come cheap. If you can’t find anything, look elsewhere.

2. Overall, choosing a provider that offers free PSP games can be rather overwhelming. There are literally hundreds of them on the internet and trying to evaluate which site will be the most beneficial for you can be difficult.

The other thing to realize is that the majority of these PSP sites look identical in terms of the actual depth of service they offer; although when you delve a little deeper you’ll discover that some have many more benefits than others. PSP games are just a start. Some of the top websites also offer the following download types:

Movies for your PSP

Downloads for popular TV shows such as ‘Friends’ or ‘Lost’

Music Downloads

Wall Paper graphics

PSP Game reviews

Many of the websites appeared to put across the impression that they did provide these but of course, once you accessed the member’s page to retrieve your free PSP downloads there was an additional fee to pay - and it was quite a lot too.

3. So as a general rule, you should expect to pay around $50 for on-going and unlimited access to free PSP games, the latest films as well as all the other benefits.

Again, there is variation but the findings in my research into the best PSP websites will certainly point you in the right direction.
