Creating simple graphics for you website

by Roy Cuddihy

Creating graphics for websites or for printed work may seem like a daunting task for most people but little do they realise that it is not that difficult to create eye catching effects that will transform their website and indeed their printed work.

I use Adobe for all my editing needs and a lot of computers these days come with it already installed and you can learn the basics within just a few minutes.

There are just three things to get used to using to enable you to create great looking graphics and the are as follows.

1: Formatting

2: Fonts

3: What Layer Style you prefer

Dont panic at this point if you haven’t done any of that before as its all self explanitory. Below is an example of how easy it is to create a great looking header for any website.

1: Open up the editing software

2: Top left of page click on “new”

3: write a simple line of text

4: Highlight text and go to fonts and choose one that you like. Your original text should now have changed to the chosen font.

5: next locate “layers” in the photoshop menu bar and again choose one that you like.

6: Highlight text {last time now} and then simply resize to what you want.

How easy was that? there is obviously a lot more that can be done to further enhance your work like adding more layers to your text giving even more different combinations.

Its all down to practice and with time you will be able to create an unlimited number of different combinations.
