How To Protect and Repair Your Windows Registry

Sunday, April 20th, 2008
by Zachary S Bartlett

If you’re reading this article, it probably means you’re not happy. You’ve probably just lost some work, saw that infamous blue screen of death, or just got some kind of error message about some corrupted registry values or something. No matter what, you’re here because your computer is having some major issues and you need to recover your windows registry to correct things.

Recovery:

Once you know you have a Windows registry problem, it’s pretty easy to get yourself back up and running. The registry, in case you aren’t familiar with it, is more or less a list of everything your computer has: all the programs, hardware, etc. This also makes it one of the most important parts of Windows, and if you develop too many registry errors, it can bring your computer to a halt. Fortunately, there are a number of programs available to repair the registry. Of course, not all of these programs are the same, and not all of them are free; some charge. But like many things in life, you often get what you pay for.

After the scan has completed, the program will give you a list of different repair choices to fix any problem it might have found. If the registry scanner you’re using tries to redirect you to another site where you have to buy the full license to fix the problem you should know that there are some that will complete the fix for free.

If you chose to visit our website then you could easily search out the different registry programs to download you could tell which of them are free or at least offer a free trail period so that you can fix your computer and see if you like the software all at once without having to pay for it.

After the recovery is complete:

Now that your registry is fixed, you can go on working with no problems, right? Wrong. Registry problems are likely to crop up again, especially if you add or delete a lot of software or hardware from your computer. You should keep that Windows registry repair tool handy since you’ll probably need it in a few months.

Why do these errors keep coming back? The registry, as mentioned earlier, lists everything on your computer. The more programs and hardware you add, the more entries in your registry. The way the registry is set up, these entries should be deleted when you remove any of these programs or devices. However, that doesn’t always happen. Viruses, adware, spyware, and other unwanted things can also corrupt the registry, adding to your problems.

Protecting your computer:

To keep your registry as protected as possible, you’ll want to do a few things. First, of course, you’ll want to continue to use that registry scanner every couple of weeks or so. This will keep registry errors from building up and help your computer run better.

A good habit to get into is to run your windows registry scan after you do your virus and spyware scans. Some windows registry repair tools, in fact, will let you set up an automated scan so you don’t even have to think about it.

So, here’s everything you need to remember about battling registry issues and keeping your Windows registry intact:

* Confirm through a registry scanner that Windows registry problems are occurring on your computer.

* Find yourself a good Windows registry repair tool.

* Run registry scans regularly to fix problems as they occur.

Overclock Your Core 2 Duo’s Voltage

Sunday, April 20th, 2008
by Billy Zype

You’ve finally decided to overclock that Core 2 Duo processor you have. Issue is, even with all the proper overclocking software and the right heat prevention gear for your components, your processor still can’t output the necessary voltage to get this thing started. Instead of simply throwing away your motherboard and buying a new one, through using a variation on the “pin-mod” overclocking technique, you can easily alter the voltage with just some electrical tape and conductive ink.

All it will take is for you to jump a few pins on your Core 2 Duo CPU and you’re done with the voltage overclock. These “pins” use to stick out of the processor, making a pin-mod like this a little bit more complicated, involving a paper clip and direct work on the motherboard. But now that the pins are simply flat on the board, all you need to do is bridge the right pins and you’re good to go!

Before we begin, make sure to note what voltage your processor is. The default voltage of the Core 2 Duo CPU’s will either be 1.2875v, 1.35v, or 1.325v and as this mod will work on any Core 2 Duo processor from the E6300 to the X6800, you’ll want to take a look at the box it came in or online for which voltage yours is.

Depending on your CPU, there are as many as 5 different voltages that you can push it to. The lowest overclocked voltage you can achieve with this method is 1.4v and the highest is 1.6v. Once you’ve decided what voltage you wish to obtain, simply follow the guide detailed out below it.

Set up the proper work space that you’ll need before you begin this process. Set everything down on a static resistant surface and ground yourself to something. Turning the chip pin-side up will reveal a little arrow in one of the corners. Make sure this arrow is pointing to the bottom right when you’ve flipped it over. Every pin that you have to jump is in the top left hand corner of the CPU. Before you start connecting pins, use the electrical tape to cover the pins you don’t want to jump with the conductive ink.

Overclock from 1.2875v:

- Overclock to 1.41v: Connect the first set of pins at row two, column’s three and four. Then the second set of pins at row’s four and five, column four.

- Overclock to 1.46v: Connect the two pins at row two, columns three and four, then connect the pin at row two, column four to the pin at row three, column four. Also, you need to put piece of tape over the pin at row three, column six.

- Overclock to 1.51v: Connect the pins at row two, column’s three and four, and then the pins at rows two and three, column four.

- Overclock to 1.56v: Connect the pins at rows two, three, and four, column four and then the pins at row two, columns three and four. Place a pin sized piece of tape over the pin at row three, column six. Also, you need to put piece of tape over the pin at row three, column six.

- Overclock to 1.6v: Connect the pins at rows two, three, and four, column four and then connect the pins at row two, columns three and four. Also, you need to put piece of tape over the pin at row three, column five.

Overclock from 1.35v:

- Overclock to 1.4v: Simply connect the pins together at row three, columns six and seven.

- Overclock to 1.45v: Start by connecting the pins together at rows two and three, column four, then cover the pin at row four, column four with electrical tape.

- Overclock to 1.5v: The first set of pins are row’s two and three, column four. The second set of pins are row three, column’s six and seven. Place a pin sized piece of tape over the pin at row four, column four.

- Overclock to 1.55v: Simply connect the pins together at rows two and three, column four.

- Overclock to 1.6v: You will need to connect two sets of pins together, the first at row’s two and three, column four. Then connect the second set at row three, column’s six and seven.

Overclocking from 1.325v:

- Overclock to 1.4v: Start by connecting the pins at row two, columns three and four. Then connect the pins at row three, columns six and seven together.

- Overclock to 1.45v: Connect the pins at row two, columns three and four, and then connect the pin at row two, column four to the pin at row three, column four. Also, you need to put piece of tape over the pin at row three, column six.

Things you can do to fix your Windows Registry

Saturday, April 19th, 2008
by Zachary S Bartlett

If you’re having issues with your Windows registry, there are several ways you can correct them. However, some of these methods are more risky than others. Here’s a run-down of the different ways you can go about fixing your windows registry problems.

*Do it yourself

If you know what you’re doing and have all the information you need, you can actually go into the Windows registry editor and fix it yourself. While this might be tempting, especially if you are fairly good at computers, it can also be a bad idea. Making changes to the Windows registry is as easy as making changes to a Word document: click save and your changes are done! This means if you change something you shouldn’t, you can very quickly and easily create more registry problems than you fix.

One of the most common ways that people try and make changes to their Windows registry is that when they get the pop up that describes the error it will generally tell you the name of the software that is giving you so many problems. They will then take the name of this program and go into the registry to try and locate what is causing the computer to malfunction in the registry.

It’s very easy to get to the Windows registry editor. Just click Start, Run, and type “regedit” in the box that pops up. Bam, there’s the Windows registry editor. You can immediately start changing things, which again might be a bad idea. Like I said above, it’s so easy to make and save changes that you can end up with just as many or more registry problems than you started with!

*Find a computer geek

Many people claim that they are computer experts in this technologically advanced age, and you probably even have several different relatives or friends who say they can fix your computer woes. This can also be a tricky fix to the problem because so many times these “experts” are not as familiar with editing a Windows registry problem as they claim. Sometimes these computer geeks can get over-zealous when tinkering with equipment that isn’t their own, and if they don’t manage to fix the problem at the end of the day you could still have a non-functioning computer to deal with.

However, if you do know someone who you don’t doubt is qualified to work on your Windows registry, don’t be afraid to call on them. Most likely, they will have already checked out all of the registry scanners and repair tools or at least have an idea of which ones are the best. If you take a look at all of the options and are completely bewildered, call up a friend and get their opinion on which Windows registry repair tool to get.

*Download a Windows registry scanner

If you don’t feel comfortable changing registry values yourself (and few people do) and you don’t know or don’t want to call in a friend, you’ll want to download a Windows registry repair tool. In fact, it’s a good idea to at least get a registry scanner and scan your computer for issues. More than likely, a Windows registry tool will find many more issues than just the one you’re going after.

It’s very easy to find a Windows registry program. You can search online using any search engine, or you can visit a webpage like ours that includes a listing of different registry tools and offers opinions on each.

How to Speed Up A Very Slow PC

Friday, April 18th, 2008
by Jason Peters

With the pervasiveness of the modern-day personal computer, it is hard to imagine our lives without them. In all aspects of our day-to-day activities, computers are involved that allow us to do things faster, more efficiently or more safely. We’ve grown accustomed to doing things as quickly as possible, and now won’t settle for anything less.

Most of us live our lives on the fast lane. We like getting our things done quickly that when we are not able to accomplish them, we easily get bothered and frustrated. One thing that gets humans really distressed is a very slow running computer. The computer plays a very big role in our lives–we use this for work, school, to communicate with our family and friends–so when it doesn’t work very well, we get quickly annoyed.

However, there are a number of easy ways that can help get your computer back up to full speed, allowing you to accomplish your work without any frustrating slow-downs. In this article, we discuss three well-known methods to increase the speed of your computer.

1. Upgrade your RAM

If you had your computer for a long time, and you estimate that it is not up to date, you can have a real problem in running the latest software. Since you do not have the optimal conditions to run the new software, your computer will start to operate very slow. If this is indeed the case, you really need to consider to obtain more RAM for your computer. The RAM, which represents the random consulted memory, can really amplify the speed of your PC by a good amount if you decide to get more of it.

2. Clean out your registry

The registry of your computer is not a sector generally known or familiar by the average or regular computer user. But the registry plays an important part in the way in which a slow computer functions. The registry is composed of a number of files known as registry keys, which indicates to your computer how to function. But if the computer were used for one prolonged period, it is very probable that some of the files in the registry became corrupted, thus slowing down the PC. In order to really solve this problem, you must decide to implement a registry cleaning software so that you can clean your registry and optimize the speed of your pc.

3. Shut down unnecessary programs

While we all love to multi-task and get things done as quickly as possible, using multiple programs at once will slow your computer down. For example, if you are using the internet while also running Microsoft Word and Microsoft Powerpoint, your computer is required to process the information from all three and will not perform as quickly with just one program running. Each computer will handle multiple workloads differently, but if your computer starts to slow down while doing so, you’ll know you’ve reached its limits.

Wireless Routers - Making The Right Purchase

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008
by Alex Morgan

A Wireless router is a piece of equipment that works by routing network traffic between various networks, both wireless and wired. Wireless routers are used to construct independent local wireless networks that can communicate with each other without the need for physical wires. This article aims to help you choose the right wireless router for your particular circumstances.

Deciding which is the right wireless router for you

Even though there are many wireless routers on the market today, we’re going to look at the top 3 that stand out from the crowd.

The first one we’ll look at is the Belkin wireless G router. This is a reliable high speed router and not surprisingly it’s one of the best selling wireless routers available. The Belkin router will let you connect to your cable, DSL, or ADSL modem and will enable you to share your broadband access and files.

The Belkin router is easy to setup and has several security features including WEP and WPA which will help you keep your computer secure. You’ll also get 6 months free of built-in parental control, web filtering, and pop-up and spyware protection.

Second on our list of recommended wireless routers is the D-Link wireless G router. As with the Belkin, this router lets you create a basic wireless network and also share your high-speed internet access with any other computer connected to your network. You can also share files and chat with your friends and family if they are online.

With the D-Link router it’s easy to protect your network from such things as trojans and computer viruses. The router has a quick setup wizard that guides you through setting everything up, including all your ISP connection settings.

Lastly, we’ll look at the Linksys wireless G router. The Linksys router has a great set of features, including 54 Mbps transfer rates, 24GHz frequency, an advanced set of security options including NAT technology, a DHCP server, and a built-in 4-port 10/100 Ethernet switch with auto speed sensing. It’s also capable of 128-bit WEP encryption.

Even though these are 3 of the best options, there are still other wireless routers worth a look, especially those from Netgear, for example. In any event, you should take the time to consider all the options, and make a list of requirements beforehand so you can tick them off against the features of each router. You should also set yourself a budget - it’s too easy to be swayed by the latest and greatest features and end up spending more than you need to.

If you’re not used to this, choosing the best wireless router can be difficult, but if you stick with the most popular models and check your list of requirements and stick to your budget there’s no need to worry at all.

One last thing - if you can, try to purchase a wireless router which is made by the same company as your network adapter - it usually makes installation and setup much easier.

Why it is Vital to Remove Spyware

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008
by Robert Pearce

Syware is now destroying computers and lives all over the world. Thieves are gaining access to personal information like credit card info, bank accounts and passwords all from the pleasure of there own home. Spyware can also quickly destroy your pc leaving you with a pile of junk. Spyware has cost me three computers to date and I’m just plain sick of it. This article will give you the info on which software to install to make sure you are getting the best possible protection available.

But first what exactly is spyware?

Well to put it simply it is basically a software program that has been specifically designed to gather and collect all sorts of information from anyone that has been unlucky enough to have it installed on their PC. Some times you may not even realize you have it on your computer until the owner of the program activates it. Once they have done this then you should start to see the tell tale signs of an infected computer. Things like ads popping up when you’re not online, your computer freezing for no apparent reason, not being able to get to your home page and your computer just being plain slow. If any of this is happening to you, well there’s a pretty good chance you are infected.

What to do if I’m infected?

First things first you will need to get some spyware removal software installed on your computer. I recommend buying a good software package but if you don’t have the money at present then here are two free programs available Ad aware and Spy bot search and destroy. Like I said it is best that you eventually buy a package or even better two. Ok for now use the two mentioned above and just scan and remove any spyware threats found on your computer.

Ok you now have a spyware free computer lets look at additional software to protect you even further.

Pop Up Blockers

Now these are now a very important piece of software to have installed on your computer. Why? I shall explain. Pop ups can be used as another type of program to plant spyware on your computer. If you surf the net a lot I’m sure you have encountered them. The thing i think most Internet users don’t under stand about the pop up is they simply think pushing the X closes the pop up and that’s the end of that. Well in some cases that’s totally wrong!! You see people can simply change the X button to OK or Download while it still looks like the close button. So you are actually giving the program permission to download onto your system and you don’t even realize it. If this does happen the best thing to do is log of immediately before the download gets a chance to finish. Better still get a blocker installed and stop pop ups in the first place. There are plenty around for free.

Anti-virus

Anti-virus software is compulsory if you wish to protect yourself against spyware. This type of software will detect any spyware trying to enter your system usually as you are downloading a file or product of the net. Anti-virus software will also give the power to scan any emails in your inbox. But if you start receiving mail from unknown senders, it’s best just to delete them. Opening emails from people or companies you don’t know can result in your PC being infected.

Register Cleaner

This really is one of the best tools for cleaning out unused files. If you have removed any spyware or software programs lately this will detect and delete any unused files that have been left behind. You are also able to clean your cache, temporary Internet files and your browser’s history. Doing all this will result in your computer running considerably faster.

Make sure you have a Firewall Installed

Firewalls are extremely important!! A firewall is designed to protect you from hackers trying to access to your PC. If you have an opening in your system, well hackers will find it and can then find and do anything they like. Believe me hackers are very good at what they do. If you don’t currently have anything on your system there interested in they will simply plant some spyware designed to stay hidden until you connect to a website of there choice. Usually websites like banks or where you are required to enter credit card details and personal info. The spyware will then activate itself and send all this information back to the hacker. This is the worst-case scenario and will result in identity theft!!

Now take some time to install all the software mentioned in this article and you and your computer will be safe from spyware. There are plenty of free software programs available just remember to up date them once a week.

Boosting The Speed Of My Slow PC

Saturday, April 12th, 2008
by Jason Peters

When you think back a few years it’s sometimes difficult to understand how we could ever get along without the PC. You watch a 1940’s movie and you begin to wonder how anyone ever got anything done in those days. Or go back to the early nineteenth century when the fastest information could travel was at the speed of a horse. So with the PC our lives are in many ways being made easier, at least as far as the obtaining of information we need or think we need is concerned.

With this almost instantaneous access to information we’ve become a bit spoiled. We look back ten to fifteen years at the computers we used at the time and think “what dinosaurs those were”. We didn’t mind waiting for a new page to load, it was a good excuse to get that second cup of coffee. Nowadays when a task we are waiting for the computer to perform takes more than a few seconds, we become uneasy, impatient, or downright upset. We’ve come to rely on the computer for many facets of our life: work, school, communicating with friends to name a few. We get a little impatient when our PC starts behaving like a slowpoke.

In this article, we will observe three well known ways to improve or increase the speed of your personal computer.

1. Upgrading Your RAM

If you had your computer for a long time, and you feel that it is not up to date, you may have a real problem running newly released software products. Because you do not have the optimal requirements to operate new software, your computer will begin to operate very slow. If this is indeed the case, you may want to consider getting more RAM for your computer. RAM, which stands for random accessed memory, can actually boost your pc speed by a good amount.

2. Clean Your Computer’s Registry

The area, known as the computer registry, is not a commonly known or familiar area of our computer. But the registry does play an important part in how fast or how slow a computer operates. The registry has a number of different files known as registry keys that tells your computer how to operate and function. But if the computer has been used for an extended period of time, it is very likely that some of the files within the registry has become corrupted, thus slowing down the pc. In order to really solve this problem, you need to access a registry cleaner software to clean out your computer’s registry and to fix any problems that are lingering within the registry.

3. Run One Program At A Time

A few years ago, upon realizing the performance limitations of our computers, we all discovered multitasking. Without knowing so much why we were doing it we all started to open up different programs at once so that while one was loading we could be entertaining ourselves elsewhere on our machines,. Unfortunately our computers will always have a fixed amount of processing power and by divided this resource you can’t help but have an adverse affect upon the first loading program. This shouldn’t necessarily be strictly avoided but be aware that everything comes at a cost, and by marinating the number of programs you have open at any given time, you will maximize your processing potential.

Email fraud and Hoax emails whats the harm

Tuesday, April 8th, 2008
by J.Maier

Hoax Emails has become very common sight in the email Inbox these days since E-mail has become an essential mode of communication in the modern world. Unfortunately, that means it’s also one of the most common routes for virus infection and fraud. Below are some of the most common email frauds that are committed using this method.

Phishing Scams: A high tech “Phishing” scam which uses pop-up or spam messages to deceive you into disclosing you personal information such as passwords, bank account or credit card numbers, Social Security numbers or anything that is confidential. The object of this hoax email scam is Identity theft. The fraudulent email is sent from the phisher that is designed to look to be sent from a reputable company. But when you click on the web link in the email it directs you to spoof site that looks like the reputable company completing the email fraud. Usually the message are asked to “update” your account information or it says that the account has been locked or hacked and ask you to click on the web link provided to correct the problem and once you do and enter you information it goes directly to the phisher that uses your information for identity theft which is used to make withdrawals from your bank along with credit cards or to request new credit cards which are quickly maxed out, etc. Recent phishing attacks have spoofed the email and websites of known companies, including Yahoo, Pfizer, Bank of America, Microsoft, and eBay, PayPal, among others.

Work-At-Home Scams: This scam is a hoax email that has tempting spam offers. In these message are the opportunity to make extra money along with the chance to do so also usually in the email it will say “no experience necessary.” Usually the sender will say that they have “inside information,” and will bait you with the lure of little or no effort easy money that can be made. Of course you are asked to pay from about $35 to several hundred dollars to purchase the material and kits that are need and will not make you a dime. Other types of this email fraud exist that offer other types of easy money and employment however they are the same type of scam. Examples of this kind of scams will offer opportunities to stuffing envelopes, making handicrafts or medical billing from you own PC out of your home. Falling for these email fraud and paying for envelop-stuffing or handicraft material and completing the work you will be told your that poor quality of product is not worth anything. Should you sign up for the medical billing business you will be required to purchase a list of doctors. In list you will find that the doctors don’t exist or are not interested in your services and never really wanted them. Similar opportunities are also sent in hoax emails as well that make similar claims.

Credit Repair Scams: This scam offers the promise to erase real or usually correct negative information that shows up on your credit report, in the hoax email it usually says that you can qualify for unsecured credit cards, loads and mortgages, etc. Due to the current credit problems that many people suffer from this email fraud has become a very popular scam. The offered services usually don’t live up to their promise and in some cases they cause many other problems in the long run. Also they have been known to make bad suggestion such as committing fraud e.g. lying about you social security number.

Guaranteed loans on easy terms: Some scam hoax emails make guarantees of unsecured credit, such as home-equity loans that have no require equity in your house or credit cards no matter what your history of credit. This is another popular type of email fraud again due to people with credit problems. Usually the offered credit comes from off-shore bank. The scam email fraud is usually part of a pyramid scheme, which encourages you to earn money by signing up your family and friends to participate in the opportunity potential. After you find out the promised offers of home equity loan turns out to be list of lenders that is useless and they will turn you down since you don’t meet the qualifications. The promised from the pyramid money-making and promised credit cards never come through and the schemes usually collapse.

Other common hoax emails that you will see are listed below. Usually key tipoff’s will show in the subject line or in the content. Instead of your personal name they use common address such as “Dear valued customer.” However it is not that hard to find a variant of your name these days. In either case it is best to beware, in either case. Free giveaways supposedly in exchange for passing on emails or bogus virus alerts or pointless petitions that lead nowhere and accomplish nothing, or false appeals to help sick children and completely fictional, warnings about companies, government policies, warnings about products or coming events.

Avoiding these email fraud messages is not easy there is some specialized software that will find these phishing hoax emails, though it has not reached maturity since it identifies even legitimate e-mail as fraud. Requests for credit card numbers or for passwords should be treated with suspicion. Keep in mind no legitimate institutions of finance ask for you to verify your sensitive data or password in an e-mail. With a bit of foreknowledge the good news is that Hoax emails are not hard to detect as email fraud. Within the average email filled with colorful prose often has indicators telling of the emails veracity.

Laptops Get Upgrades For Gamers Who Stay Mobile

Tuesday, April 8th, 2008
by Chris Channing

We all know that the common stereotype among PC gamers is that they never leave the house. Now this is probably true for some- but everyone has to go outside at some point in time. And when that happens, PC gamers should be able to take their gaming experience with them! But are laptops ready for the demand today’s PC games put on system requirements?

Laptops Get Gaming Upgrades

Thanks to the technology unveiled in recent years, gamers are now getting higher performance in smaller packages. This has enabled the manufacturing industry to offer better performing laptops at cheaper prices.

Processors are now sporting Duo-Core technology, which is a fancy phrase for the use of two processors. This allows for more processing to be done in a multitasking environment- meaning smaller clock rates on processors are needed, which in turn produces less heat. (And as laptop owners know, heat will destroy a laptop quicker than anything)

Just like processors, hard drives are famous for creating excessive heat levels. Gamers need high RPM speeds on hard drives, so that information can be accessed quicker for more demanding technology. It is uncommon to see a 7,200 RPM hard drive in laptops today, simply because they produce too much heat and can often be bulky. There are, however, exceptions- but be prepared to shell out a good deal of money for the upgrade.

Next we have the graphics card. The graphics card is what renders all the guns, ammo, enemies, and graphics that you will interact with on your laptop. Obviously this is a rather important component, and thus, it should be of good quality. Sadly, the latest and greatest in graphics cards aren’t available in mini formats yet- although good mobile graphics cards can still be had.

Pitfalls In Laptop Gaming

Battery life is the most controversial flaw for any laptop user. If a laptop uses more performance, it will thus have less battery life. This is sad for laptop gamers, who will sometimes see only an hour or two of laptop life before having to recharge. This is compared to the 10 or more hours that normal laptop users can enjoy.

Laptops are famous for the use of the touchpad instead of a mouse. But when laptop gamers try to play a game with the touchpad, they will soon realize that a mouse is usually the only way to go. USB mice can be bought, but they require that a clean and flat surface be had- which isn’t always the case.

Closing Arguements

As mobile gaming becomes ever more popular, we can only hope that the hardware increases in both performance and heat dissipation. But as current trends go, you’ll be shelling out more money for a laptop that is statistically less productive and has a lesser life longevity. Remember that if you do indeed opt for a gaming laptop, you should buy a cooling fan to help protect your investment.

Why you should remove adware

Monday, April 7th, 2008
by Robert Pearce

Adware is present on many of the websites visited by internet users every day. Adware is ad supported computer software that permits the website owner or web host to display advertisements to visitors as they land on the website. Some types of adware software is capable of installing itself on your computer while you are visiting a site if you don’t have some sort of blocking feature in use to protect your computer from such no-permission installation. This ad supported software is often used to offset the costs of hosting a website or to offset the costs of the web designer or programmer that developed the website. Many webmasters can even use certain ad supported software to generate separate streams of income.

Malicious adware is one the worst forms of adware around. This type of programing is desighned to collect personal surfing habits, but can also gather personal infomation such as passwords, Bank accounts and your credit card details. This type of software is better known as spyware. The information that spyware collects can then be used to bulid a companies marketing list or in turn can result in you reciving hundreds of advertisements e-mails clogging up your inbox. But it can be alot worse, this type of personal info in the wroung hands can result in identity theft. So it is absolutely vital you have a variety of software to to protect your personal infomation and keep your computer running smoth.

How to remove adware

Luckily, there are many software programs that have been developed to combat malicious adware or spyware. Much of anti-virus software that is available today features some adware detecting, containing, and cleansing capabilities. But the primary purpose for anti-virus software is to protect your computer from virus threats. Therefore most of the technology in them is focused towards thwarting viruses and not detecting the presence of adware. Firewalls, and pop-up blocker software offers added security and are also useful in combating malicious adware.

But today, anti-virus, firewalls, and pop-up blockers are not enough for detecting and combating against the intrusive and security risk presented by malicious software applications, and to prevent them from being installed on your computer while you are innocently surfing the internet.
