The Main Event of Austin Texas

Thursday, March 27th, 2008
by Juble.com

Austin Texas has always been a very important city in this great Western State. For one, it is the state capital. For another, it is home to many local attractions and activities, most nature oriented. However, in the past few years, Austin has undertaken a different goal than just being an important Texas city.. These days, the Texas capital has been pushing hard to become an important national city, with a remarkable amount of success. The main target of Austin’s outreach is the vacationer. There have been hundreds of new and exciting vacation attractions to open up here in the past few years, with the promise of thousands more to come in the years to come.

As most travelers choose a more tropical outlet for their vacation wants and needs, many would ask the very same question, “What is there to do in Austin?” In short, the answer is just about anything that you want. With the strong urging to bring in tourists, there have been a wide variety of attractions to come to the fore. What makes them different than most is that, in Texas, the attraction owners and directors are not satisfied with merely offering one attraction. They always seem to implement many attractions in one central location. A good example of this is the aptly named, “Main Event.?

The Main Event is a culmination of many fun-filled popular tourist attractions all in one place. It would be difficult to call this a theme park, as the only theme is having a good time. One of the many adventures to be had here is the challenging sport of rock climbing. The interesting thing here is that this is not just a single wall of climbing opportunities. There are actually over eight thousand feet of rock embedded climbing options. There are some that are for kids and others for adults. There are safety harnesses for everyone so you don’t have to worry about plummeting to your doom below. It’s all the fun of climbing a real mountain without the risk.

Another local favorite aspect of The Main Event is the Laser Tag area. This is a great sporting opportunity for all ages, child or adult. In this activity you will put on your chest harness, arm yourself with your laser gun and walk into the strangest setting that you have ever set foot in. The walls are pictures of outer space and the lighting is all oddly colored, with neon glow lights in purple, red, and a strange shade of green. There are barriers for you to duck behind and run through as your opponents fire shamelessly in your direction. This is a real fast paced fun adventure!

There are so many options for energetic as well as relaxing fun to be had here. There is a big bowling alley, a pool hall, an arcade and games area, and even a glow golf course. While here you will find that there is also an excellent food and bar area for a snack or when the adults just need a nice relaxing drink.

If you don’t like to do a lot of running all over the city to find all the attractions and activities at your vacation destinations, then make it a point to check into all the many attractions of Austin Texas, where fun is always only a few feet away!

Psychic Clients that Use Psychic Websites

Monday, March 24th, 2008
by Charlie Reese

Did you know that the psychic world has advanced since the year 1960? In the ancient days, a clairvoyant psychic was able to perform a psychic reading within the comfort of their own home or on a street corner. It’s a fact that psychics used to sell their services at fairs and carnivals. They used to ask people if they would like to buy a psychic reading. You could get a clairvoyant psychic reading or a tarot card reading. Men and women would often refer to them as psychic mediums. A psychic reading would often cost $10.00 and it was possible to ask a psychic about love, money and career. The psychic reader would usually answer anything that you needed an answer to.

As the days and months progressed, psychic hotlines were showing their commercials on television sets. The psychic networks were able to gain clients through the use of a television spot. Instead of having to get a psychic reading on some street corner, you could now get one out of the comfort of your own home. Many psychic clients chose to use these types of services because they allowed them to get a psychic reading at all hours of the night. It didn’t matter if it was 2:00 in the afternoon or 1:00 a.m. You could just log into one of the psychic networks and get a full length tarot card reading. Men and women alike enjoyed getting a psychic reading through the phone because it was very secretive.

As the internet became available to most people, they began searching for psychics through search engines. Many psychic companies began building psychic websites for people that were interested in psychics. With the advanced technology, they were able to let you call a psychic almost immediately with the touch of a button. The internet opened a whole new world for people to learn more about psychics. The more amazing a psychic reading became, the more a psychic client would use the services. After time, the psychic industry grew to an enormous empire.

Did you know that most people would prefer to talk to a psychic by phone than through a face to face reading? It is a lot easier to speak to a psychic advisor through the telephone than it is through a house sitting. It has the same or even better effect. You can also chat with a psychic for a long period of time because the psychic usually permits you to ask a few questions at first. A psychic chat online reading is becoming more and more popular in today’s society because people want to know what others are actually seeing for them. If you ever wondered why a psychic is actually psychic, then a psychic chat online reading will definitely reveal that to you.

A psychic chat online reading is a psychic reading that allows you to connect with a psychic through an internet connection. It’s usually best to have a high speed internet hookup. In this way, you can ask the psychic any question that you want and however long you want.

Many clairvoyant psychic websites specialize in giving psychic readings to people through phone, chat and email. Some psychics can do all three, but usually prefer to do one or the other. It is always a plus to get a psychic that can give you a clairvoyant and tarot card reading at the same time. It’s important to get a good psychic reading today so that you can fully understand what lyes ahead in your spiritual future. Many psychics can pick up accurate details concering your life in so many different ways. Many psychics give tarot card readings and have proven themselves to be very powerful. When a psychic gets a powerful vision, they can often translate it to you through their sixth sense. It’s an amazing encounter for most people because they often want to come to you on their own. Psychics can often pick up accurate details and they can often give you information concerning your past, present and future. The amazing thing about a psychic reading is that it is usually the best way that you can get accurate information about yourself online.

Some Tips Having Good Psychic Reading

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008
by Gaye Wright

So you are considering getting a psychic reading. If you have never had one before, you are probably very curious and a little nervous. You are not sure what to expect or how best to prepare, and you do not want to get ripped off.

First of all, you need to research to find a psychic. It is important to realise that you might not find the right psychic for you the first time. Most people have to talk to a few before they find someone they feel happy with.

Some people are lucky and they click well with the first one they meet. Clearly, not all psychics are equal, and some have better developed abilities and more experience than others.

Usually the more experienced psychics with an established reputation will have higher fees, while the newer readers without an established following, still trying to grow a reputation, will charge lower fees.

The best way to find a reputable psychic reader is to get a referral from a friend. If that is not an option, you can turn to the Internet.

There are many psychic websites on the internet. Most of them offer profiles of their readers. You can look through these profiles and see if there is someone you are drawn to. There are some psychic websites that offer a money back guarantee. These are obviously ones who you can feel more secure with.

Fraud is definitely a problem with the proliferation of psychics, particularly, on the web. There is no such thing as 100% accuracy. No genuine psychic would claim that. Avoid psychics also that have the “High Priestess” energy and create anxiety around your issues and then tell you the only way to sort your problems out to is have readings with them on a regular basis.

If you want a reading on a specific topic, such as a relationship or dream interpretation, you can find a practitioner who specializes in the topic you are looking for. There are also a number of different methods various psychics use to conduct their readings. Some use Tarot cards, or the I Ching, and others specialize in numerology. Many simply tune in to your energy. You may want to do a little research to determine which method would best fit your needs.

It is important to realise that once you have decided to go with a particular psychic that you have your part to play in achieving a successful reading. The more your are emotionally open-hearted then the better the psychic will be able sense your energy fields and penetrate into your subconscious.

Psychics have a special ability to see and sense things that most people cannot. But they are not mind readers and will ask some questions. Don’t waste your time or theirs by testing them.

Some people go into a reading only wanting to hear what they want to hear. But there is a likelihood that you many not like all that you hear in the reading. In order to have a successful psychic reading, you must have an open mind so you can hear things even if you don’t like them. Remember, what you think you want now may not be for your highest good and may not be what you want next year.

A last point to note is that life is fluid and nothing is set in stone. Psychics can tell you of possible outcomes according to where your life is at presently.

You have the ability to alter your present circumstances and your future through your actions and decisions. A psychic can affirm the direction you are headed or alert you to make some changes if the course looks bleak. Ultimately, it is your choice, in selecting whom to have a reading with and in setting the patterns of your life in motion.

Thanksgiving

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008
by Zigfred Diaz

I was preparing for a Sunday sermon on thanksgiving as I was asked to speak on the subject. God brought to my attention the Samaritan leper’s thanksgiving found in Luke 17 verses 11 to 19. The story is quite a familiar one among Christians. It tells of 10 Samaritan lepers who were asking Jesus for mercy. Jesus asked them to show themselves to the priest. As they went along, they found out that they were healed. The story however ends with a sad twist, only one of them came back to thank Jesus.

Believing that the proper way to preach is to give an expository sermon, I looked at the words in the original Greek. I was delighted to learn that the Greek word for “Thanks” is eucharisteo.” This is where we get our word for “Eucharist.” Christ often used this word whenever he gave thanks for a meal. Likewise, the Apostle Paul often uses this word in his opening statements when writing to the New Testament churches.

Interestingly enough, eucharisteo literally means eu = good, well + a form of charis = to favor or thank; to respond to a good favor. Eucharisteo is also used as the verbs form of “favor” or “Charis” in Greek, the modern translation being “Grace.”

Looking at the Greek words and the Gospel story, it finally dawned on me that the Lepers were asking for “Mercy” but for one leper he got “Grace” instead, and he was responding to it thankfully.

Sometimes we interchange “Mercy” for “Grace” or we think that they mean the same thing. But they are different. Mercy is not getting what you deserve. On the other hand, Grace is getting what you don’t deserve. As sinners we deserve to go to Hell. But by God’s mercy we are spared from that punishment. But receiving eternal life is only through grace. We do not deserve that our sins but forgiven, forgotten and that we receive eternal life , but we received it because of GRACE.

Ephesians chapter 2 verse 8 and 9 says that “For by Grace are you saved through faith, it is the gift of God, not works lest any man should boast” The gift spoken of here is “Saving faith.” In other words even the faith to believe is given to us by God because by ourselves alone we do not have the ability to believe God by Faith. All we have is natural faith. What we need in order to know Christ is “supernatural faith.”

What a joy to know that God gave us “Supernatural faith” in order to truly believe. We should respond to Him in thanksgiving. Certainly, it is not because we have the natural ability to believe in Christ that we received the gift of salvation. We received the gift of salvation because of Him alone and Him alone.

Since he was given what he does not deserve, the Samaritan Leper expressed his thanks to Jesus Christ and the verse says that he “turned back and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks”

He was then asked by Jesus Christ, “”Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? There are none found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.”

This is the part that I love the most, Jesus furhters tells him to “Arise; go thy way. Thy faith hath made thee whole.” In effect, He was saying to the Samaritan Leper “Your faith has saved you.”

Truly, the Samaritan Leper got more than what he asked for. He asked for mercy but he got grace instead and with that salvation. Being truly thankful is certainly is worth it !

Modern Jewelry giving Spiritual Protection

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008
by David R.

In the last few decades modern jewelry designers have been very aware of the events occuring in the world and they have made special designs inspired by those events. We only have to think about the first atomic bomb. This event has inspired modern jewelry designers into the creation of jewelry reflecting starbursts and sprays of diamonds. Jewelry design also implies taking in account the time of day or night when the jewelry is being worn. Daytime usually reflects gold jewelry while during the evening and night diamonds are the preferred choice

Jewels during the day and Night

When designing modern gold jewelry that will be worn mainly during the daytime, designers usually prefer Florentine finishes, mesh and foxtail or similar chains. In the fifties the chain of cultivated pearls was very popular amongst the modern jewelry designers

The colorful sixties marked a radical change in the use of materials by jewelry designers. Instead of using the traditional diamonds, gold and platinum these modern jewelry designers also started to make use of less noble materials like gemstones, silver, geode crystals and even regular metals like steel or copper. Women started to use these hybrid jewels because of their colorful designs

The use of new materials in jewelry designs in the seventies like rock crystals, ivory, wood or coral was mainly due to the fact that women spoke up and started to express their feelings about jewelry design. The womens movement and feminism of the seventies required from jewelry designers to make more personalized jewels.

And, with the dawning of the eighties and beginning of the nineties, people became more affluent and so modern designer jewelry took another turn and veered to the more glamorous, glitzy as well sparkling style of jewelry, and when Princess Diana wedded, there was a noticeable shift to elegance and also grace in the modern designer jewelry of this time.

From that moment until today there have been many changes in modern jewelry design especially the incorporation of synthetic materials, non-precious metals, hybrid metals, metal clay, PMC, synthetic gemstones, the coloring of pearls and multicolored diamonds. These new designs of the 21st century are more unique and special than ever before.

A special place amongst jewelry designers and special designs is been taken without a doubt the designers of spiritual jewelry, talismans, amulets, jewelry for protection, sacred jewelry and so on. These designs are made for protection and the possibilities to receive special blessings and powers from nature. The Spiritual jewelry designs are based on ancient traditions and their basic forms have always been more or less the same. This Spiritual Jewelry has a very long tradition , probably from the beginning of mankind. Today’s spiritual jewelry is modern with the same traditional forms and traditions but using a different process and different material to create them. These designs are unique and special and a very worthy alternative for more classical designs. If you want to look different you should take a look at the Spiritual Jewelry.

Psychics Love Helping Others

Tuesday, March 18th, 2008
by Charlie Reese

Psychics have long been known to possess a psychic gift. A psychic Gift can be extremely challenging for those that do not understand the gift completely. Many psychics say that their psychic gift started in them when they were just a small child. As they grew older, a lot of psychics believed that their gift was able to help people and to guide people into a careful understanding of their surroundings and to what they really want in their lives. Many psychics choose to give their gifts to those that choose to listen to what they have to say.

Many psychics enjoy using their gifts to help others to grow in such a way that will help others to see and to hear what they have to say. Many people enjoy getting psychic readings because it actually helps them to see what is going on inside of them. There are all different types of psychics to include: clairvoyants, rune readers, tarot card readers and astrology readers. No matter what kind of psychic you are looking for, there are plenty to be found on the internet. The internet is full of psychics that are looking to offer you their services. Some psychics use their gifts for free while others use them for profit. No matter what kind of psychic you are looking for, it’s always important to know that psychics enjoy what they do because they have a special and unique calling in their area of expertise.

A good psychic knows from right from wrong. A good psychic can obviously tell you what you need to know and hear. A good psychic can also show you what you need to learn about yourself. Some psychics don’t know how to address your deep core issues, while others do know how to address them. It’s important to understand that being a psychic is a tough task and so few people can ever really look at a psychic and understand why they have the gifts that they do. At times, a psychic may seem as though they are not easily looked upon. Many people look at a psychic and don’t completely understand why they are the way in which they are. It seems as though there is a lot of information in the world today that helps psychics to get ahead and sometimes they take this information and do good with it. There is so much energy giving play in the sense that when people look at psychics, they look to see why their energy is going to be closer to someone that is truly going to be able to care about them. Many psychics explain that they are the real deal and many psychics find the need to prove themselves to people over a long period of time. Many psychics find the need to explain to people what their psychic gifts mean to them and why they are choosing to use them in their life time. Some people choose to use their psychic gifts for many different reasons. When a person finds their psychic gift to be useful in helping others, they honestly take it and use it to help someone that is clearly in need.

The Great Giza Pyramid: a message bound in stone

Tuesday, March 18th, 2008
by Ken Klein

Five thousand years ago the knowledge of existence and universal secrets were put into a time capsule. Throughout the course of history men sensed there was something more. But while curiosity reigned in the hearts of men, how to find it was a great perplexity.

It was actually more than a legend it was a sacred and brilliant oracle; an oracle that holds the answers into the mysterious meaning of human existence, the universe, and the destiny for all mankind. But it was lost.

But the message is warped out of shape, distorted by man and time. We simply cannot discern and extract the message from the distortions. But to our good fortune hidden away, encrypted in a gigantic vault of stone the very rocks cry out, but in a deafening silence. Who will hear its quiet voice?

In the darkness of unlit imaginations it was thought to be a tomb of a pharaoh and they called it the Great Pyramid, the final abode and resting place of Cheops. Even though his mummy was never found, nor were there any hieroglyphics inside the pyramid suggesting he had ever been there. Yet, the stubborn story persists to this day.

The truth is, the truth lies in repose waiting for the moment when some brave soul cries out “the emperor has no clothes.” But as long as the world persists in calling the Great Pyramid the tomb of Cheops, the startling and awesome reality for what the oracle has to say remains buried and muted in its gigantic sarcophagus of stone.

The Jews, on the other hand, ignorantly claim it was they who built the Great Pyramid. They say they toiled to build it under the oppressive hand of the presiding pharaoh, whilst they were in their 400 year captivity in the land of Egypt. Muslims, the Jews long lost cousins, unknowingly attach a spiritual meaning by placing a crescent moon atop their mosques which is an ironic and inadvertent connection to its builder the moon god Thoth.

Nevertheless, what the world continues to hold in darkness, is about to be confronted with a brilliant light. And the oracle, long lost, is about to be reborn to the forefront of human minds. The shroud and curtain over 5000 years of time is about to be lifted.

But the vib, the tone, the music, will be heard. The lost meaning laying in wait for thousand of years cannot be shut out. Over time even those who try to suppress the sound will be mesmerized but the melodic harmony of the song of the rocks.

The History of Easter

Friday, March 7th, 2008
by Richmond Park Church

The Easter holiday is a spring-time celebration that makes us think about chocolate eggs, bunny rabbits, and for Christians, the glorious resurrection of Jesus. The Saxon goddess Eostre gave her name to “Easter”; other pagan cultures worshipped similar goddesses, who represented nature and fertility. The hare, or rabbit, often accompanied these goddesses, being a strong symbol of fertility.

Strangely, Easter eggs are a tradition linked to the symbolic hare or rabbit; the modern-day “Easter Bunny” was originally a spirit that brought new life with it at spring-time, new life which all came from the eggs it laid in the grass. So that explains Easter eggs (new life), Easter Bunnies (fertility) and Easter egg hunts (searching in the grass for the hidden eggs)!

Historical records, including the Bible, tell us that Jesus was also crucified at this time of year, in the run up to the Jewish Passover festival. The date each year for Passover was, and still is, based on the Jewish calendar, which has different months than on the calendar we follow today in the western world.

The early Christians sometimes celebrated the resurrection on a Sunday, because that was the DAY of the resurrection, and sometimes after Passover, because that was the DATE of the resurrection. Church leaders decided, some 350 years after the crucifixion, to always celebrate Easter Day on the first Sunday after the full moon that directly follows the Spring Equinox.

Even though Easter has taken it’s name from paganism, it actually has much more to do with the Jewish Passover festival. 1200 years before Jesus, God rescued his people from slavery in Egypt, and Passover was established to commemorate this event, in particular, the day God “passed over” the homes of the Israelites, but killed the first born Egyptians in their homes.

Under Jewish law animal sacrifices had to be made to pay for people’s sins. At the Passover a lamb was killed. Jesus took the role of a sacrificial lamb when he was killed on the cross and Christians believe he died and rose again to conquer sin for us in the spiritual realm and lead us into a life of freedom. That’s what we celebrate on Easter Day!

The other days that make up the Easter calendar -things like Shrove Tuesday (Pancake Day) and Lent- were made up by the church in the fourth century AD. They were each designed to be a reminder of different events in Jesus life leading up to his death and resurrection.

Change a Life in 20 Minutes: Ministering to the Chronically Ill

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008
by Lisa Copen

Rest Ministries, the largest Christian organization that specifically serves the chronically ill, recently did a survey and asked people to “List some of the programs or resources a church could offer to make it more inviting comfortable” They have provided a sampling of some of the 800+ responses, all of which could be done in 20 minutes or less.

1. Send out encouraging emails.

2. Make sure the handicapped stalls in the restroom are functioning and clean.

3. Padded chairs or cushions would make church much easier, or also room for a wheelchair. And an extra place for my family to be able to sit with me.

4. An open attitude for a support group like HopeKeepers. It would make me feel very special that there was an understanding of needs that are not always visible.

5. More handicapped parking.

6. An awareness on the part of the ushers that those arriving late may have difficulty walking or getting out of cars.

7. Have a couple of people who could call chronically ill folks and check on them when they can’t make it to church.

8. When suppers are given, recognize that I may need help getting my meal–or at least understand that I won’t be able to wait in a long line.

9. Be gentle when giving people big hugs. It can topple over or hurt a person.

10. Video tape of the service for DVD, don’t just do a live web cast. My computer doesn’t work that well.

11. Make sure that the church doors aren’t too difficult to open or at least have mechanical assistance if they’re unusually heavy.

12. Stop telling me that if I truly believed and had faith I’d be healed by now. Please don’t go on and on about how good I look even though I know for a fact that I look terrible and miserable that day.

13. Offer ways to serve within the church that can be performed regularly, but not on a set schedule so that I can still contribute, but there’s enough flexibility that I can do the job when I feel well enough to do so.

14. Have sermon notes available so I can listen later or even just review what I didn’t catch the first time.

15. Acknowledge National Invisible Chronic Illness Awareness Week. A selection of books on the topic in the church bookstore would be nice. Rest Ministries has a top 100 list of Christian books for the chronically ill for some ideas.

16. Just mention chronic illness occasionally! Don’t forget to talk about it in sermons as one of the challenges many people face just like unemployment or divorce.

17. Let me know about Christian volunteers from church that will clean house for small fee. Some have offered to clean my house, but I am not able to accept charity yet, but neither can I afford to pay a regular house cleaning service.

18. Have the church help with some of the small costs of providing encouraging books and resources for the church library. The chronically ill often cannot afford all that they’d like to read and will check them out.

19. Remember all of the caregivers in the church–not just caregivers of parents, but spouses and ill children as well.

20. Have copies for free of the sermon on CD.

hinduism religion - lord ganesh

Saturday, March 1st, 2008
by Ali Rashid

On the day of the Chaturthi, the last of the days dedicated to the elephant-headed god, thousands of processions converge on the beaches of Mumbai to immerse the holy idols in the sea. This immersion is accompanied by drumbeats, devotional songs and dancing. Every year, the largest Ganesh idol is installed at Khairatabad in Hyderabad, which is more than 30 ft tall. The Ganapati Mahotsav or the Grand Festival of Ganesha is the principle festival in Bombay, the financial capital of India. In Bombay factories commission the largest of the 6000 or so Ganeshas collectively. Each of these idols can be upto 10 meters in height and are paraded on lorries decorated with multi-colored lights. At the other end of the scale, little Ganeshas are placed in nukkads or street corners and in homes, and pujas are performed daily. The festival was started by Shivaji , the great Maratha ruler, to promote culture and a feeling of nationalism amongst his subjects who were fighting against the Mughals.

After his death the festival was celebrated but on a smaller scale. In 1894 when the British banned public assemblies Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak who felt that this was way of spreading the freedom message through a legitimate religious festival revived the festival. On full moon day every idol is taken down to the Chowpatty beach accompanied by hordes of people singing and dancing and is immersed in the Arabian Sea.

On the 4th day of the bright half of Bhadrapad, the great festival of Ganesh or Ganpati is celebrated. This festival marked the birthday of Lord Ganesh. Ganpati is one of the most popular deities. Both Shaivites and Vaishnavites worship him. Even Buddhists and Jains have respect for Ganpati. He is considered to be an avatar of both Shiva and Vishnu.

To appreciate this occasion, one must go to Mumbai where preparations begin months in advance. Images of Ganesha are installed within homes as well as in places of assembly. Elaborate arrangements are made for lighting and decoration and Ganesha is fervently worshipped for about 7-10 days.
