The 4gb iPhone: Tell me more.

Saturday, April 19th, 2008
by Peter M Vizard

The launching of the new 4gb iPhone had a considerable amount of interest as it created a lower end entry level product, especially for the teen market. The iPhone was to be an all in one communication tool - like having an ipod and phone all in one

For the most, the new 4gb iPhone lived up to its hype. Individuals lined up for hours in front of stores for this new product. This was due to its design and the ease of use. However, there were a few negative comments about it.

The Radical Design Of The 4gb iPhone

The 4gb iPhone certainly sells itself by the way it looks. The sleek design and huge Graphical screen, which is easy to use, makes it a product which needs no selling, just the person to try it out. This screen is where the activity takes place and is easy to use, with its graphical like icon like system.

Also, the 4gb iPhone is not bulky.. In fact the iPhone is very thin which adds to its appeal.

The Phone is not bulky or cumbersome, in fact the very thin design adds to its style.

The Many Functions

Running on is the Mac OS X , This allows 4gb iPhone to be Graphically fast and smooth. This system supports many functions that are contained on the iPhone.

One of those applications is the music player. Another application included as part of the multi-functional package is a one click, high storage, megapixel camera. One well used feature, was the ease of getting online.

It also allows the easy access to email, text messaging and online browsing. This is sure to bring a large following as teens have grown up with fast internet access.

The 4gb iPhone: negative feedback

Of course no gadget is perfect. The 4gb iPhone is the same.

Some of the comments that against the iPhone were:

1. Camera not having video 2. 4 gb not enough memory

Two months following the launch of this iPhone it was announced that this model of the iPhone would no longer be produced.

This affected the selling price of the 4gb iPhone. Originally, it was set at around $499.00. Lack of memory and the resulting decision was to stop production of this model, it can be purchased for about $200 less.

This makes the iphone 4 gb a good buy for those who can’t afford the top model or possibly for the teenager who is just finding this new technology.

The Internet Is Now Portable In New and Exciting Ways

Thursday, April 17th, 2008
by Steve Collins

Imagine yourself in a crisis: you are supposed to be meeting a client for dinner to finalize a big deal and you have been delayed because a meeting in a nearby town ran long. When you go to contact your client, you realize you forgot to charge your cell phone. The battery is dead, and the client’s contact information is in your dead phone! What do you do? Your contract is suddenly at risk just because you did not remember to plug in your cell phone?!

The savvy mobile phone user will not panic, because the savvy mobile phone user recognizes that all he has to do is take out the SIM card from his phone and install it into someone’s else’s. All the subscriber information-including phone contacts-is stored on that tiny card! Any phone into which you put your SIM card will act as your own phone, complete with ring tones (and billing information!).

A SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card is part of your phone’s integrated circuit card and includes your identity, phone numbers, and information specific to your provider network. If you upgrade your phone, you can easily transfer your SIM card from the old phone to the new one. It only takes a minute to take off the back of the phone, slip out the battery, and pluck out the card then open up the new phone and install it. It saves a lot of time adding in phone numbers and fiddling with settings.

Currently, powerful technology has made it possible for SIM cards to enable cell phones to act as web servers. High speed communications are handled directly within your phone, and the phone connects to the internet. Through this connection, any form of media can be published on a website!

The internet is now portable in ways heretofore never imagined! With a handheld phone connected to the internet and operating as a web server, you can literally take your business wherever you go! The possibilities are unlimited.

Plugging my mp3 player into my car

plug mp3 player into car: Introduction

Have ever got into your car and turned on the radio to a song that you can’t stand then turn over to a different station only to find that the song you love has just finished. Okay you’ll be glad to know that is a solution, it is your humble iPod. There are many ways of playing your iPod music through your radio. This may sound expensive but you’ll be surprised on how affordable it can be.

So where do you start you may be asking. The first thing you need to think about is how much you’re willing to spend on the solution. You may want the all singing all dancing solution or your may want a cheap wire that you plug into you ipod and then into your radio.

plugging my mp3 player into my car: Options

So we shall begin here are your options

Option 1: iPod adapter to cassette tape

This is the not only the cheapest option but also this is simple a lead that fits into your headphone jack socket and then it has a cassette that you put into your car radio. I personally think that this is not the right option I wouldn’t go for this one as you have to have wires everywhere and it can be fiddly. These cables generally cost you between $8 - $20(4 - 10). But also on the downside most new car radios don’t have a cassette player.

Option 2: iPod radio transmitter.

This option is my preferred mid range solution. An iPod radio transmitter is simple a little device that fits into your usb socket of your iPod. It then uses the power off your iPod to power itself and then it transmits what ever you’re playing onto your radio. Basically you select what station you want your transmitter to transmit to and off you go. This solution will set you back from between 20 - 40. But the downside of this is that you need to get the station perfect as if you choose the wrong station you can get interference and it’ll sound like your playing your music on a gramophone.

Option 3: iPod compatable radio

This is the more expensive option. You can buy a radio that will accept the standard iPod cable, the one that came in the box to connect to your pc. You can also get some of the radios that supply there own cable to connect to your iPod. This option will set you back starting from $260+ (130+). There are some high end systems that have Sat nav built in that cost about $1400 (700).

How do I plug my mp3 player into my car: Conclusion

So there it is all your choices there for you obviously there are other options out there but these are the main ones.

SEO - What is It All About - On Page and Off?

Saturday, April 12th, 2008
by M. L. Williams

You Need Traffic

As soon as you design and build a website, no matter what the underlying purpose is, you soon will start to realize that the only way to profit from the site is if you get some visitors. And content, no matter how great, is not enough to ensure success.

SEO and Visitors

Most sites get most of their new visitors from search engine results. People go to the search engine to find answers, and your site needs to be on the first page of the listings in order to get those people to click on your link. And Google is the main site you need to worry about since it receives more than half of the search traffic on the web today.

What is SEO?

Search engine optimization (or SEO) is simple the attempt to get a website and its pages placed well for relevant keywords in the major search engines - especially Google. So, if your website provides a market timing service for exchange traded funds (ETFs) for example, you would want your site to be near the top of the list in Google (and on the first page) when a web visitor types “etf timing system” into the Google search box.

What are the Two Main Types of SEO?

On site, or on page, SEO is the first type. Off site, or off page, SEO is the other type.

On Page or On Site SEO

On page SEO is simple the attempt to provide content on your web pages that the search engines will index quickly and will put high in the search results for your most important keywords. On page SEO is accomplished primarily through using the key words you are attempting to attract traffic from in your headlines and the text of the page.

Off Page or Off Site SEO

SEO that is focused on off page or off site issues is all about incoming links. Google, especially, ranks pages higher if incoming links from quality sites indicate that the site provides useful information and/or is an authority in the area of the content.

How Should I Spend My Time on SEO - On Site or Off Site?

Unfortunately, there is no clear answer to this question. Although you can get a lot of visitors to your site with a comprehensive linking strategy, it is important that you have quality content that is related to what the visitor is seeking or else the bounce rate (the visitor clicks away from your page without visiting any other page on your site) will be high and getting the visitor to come to your site to begin with won’t mean anything.

SEO of both types must be done to get the most out of your websites profit potential.

Obviously, you must balance the effort you put into on page and off page SEO to achieve the best results.

Types of Solar Power Systems For Home And Recreational Use

Wednesday, April 9th, 2008
by Adrian Fletcher

The sun’s energy can be used to create electricity to power homes, businesses and many remote devices and vehicles. There are quite a few systems around these days and while in many cases it is obvious which system is the best fit for your needs this is not always the case. This article will cover some of the solar power systems and discuss which one is more suited for your requirements.

If you have a vehicle that requires a power source like a boat or an RV then a portable solar power system may be the best bet. It is smaller than a system that might power a home, so will be cheaper and easier to maintain. It will not give out the same capacity as a bigger system but is flexible enough to be moved around to capture every ounce of sunlight.

A stand alone power system is comprised of a solar panel. The size will vary depending on your energy needs. This is connected to a battery system. Again this will vary depending on your needs. You will also need an inverter that converts DC current to AC current.

Many people that are inexperienced with solar power choose a grid tie system. This has a couple of advantages over other systems. First, it takes a lot of the complexity out of setting up a solar powered electric system. And second, it has a contingency plan that protects the home or business from cloudy weather or days without sunlight. The grid tie system still has a connection to the utility grid so that electricity that is used comes from the solar panels or the grid if the solar panels cannot produce enough.

This system is attractive to solar newbies because it is painless to set up. The utility company will do all this and maintain the components of the system. There is no need for batteries which are time consuming to maintain as the electricity is stored by the utility company.

Eventually, as people become more experienced with solar power they will move towards a completely stand alone system. That is an off the grid system. They will become completely self sufficient for energy needs. Of course this requires more management by the individual and more responsibility but it is cheaper than using grid power and more environmentally friendly.

The complete off grid system will contain more inverters, probably two, so that there will be enough current to run large appliances like air conditioners and electric heaters. It also gives the solar power system more flexibility in that one can be operated while the other is being maintained.

Of course another reason for having an off the grid system is when there is no grid to connect to. Typically, this will be in remote areas and the solar power system is the only source of energy supply. It is not so much a nice thing to have or an economical measure but a necessity.

Hybrid systems are generally the best way to go when attempting to go self sufficient in energy creation or when in an isolated area. A hybrid system uses two or more energy creating systems in conjunction. So you may use your solar power system during the day and then rely on wind power at night. Or instead of wind power you might use a normal generator that is powered by diesel or gasoline.

Again, it depends on how much time or money you have but to have as many contingencies to your solar power system is the best way to go as you can’t always rely on the sun. So why not have a solar/wind/generator system. This would be more complex to operate but would cover your energy needs no matter what type of weather you experienced.

Best Guide to Electric Scooter Parts

Tuesday, April 8th, 2008
by Torrie Cantor

When it comes to buying electric scooter parts, a lot of customers buy the wrong parts for the wrong scooter. One major concern when buying scooter parts is to make sure whether the parts are compatible with your scooter brand.

Popular electric scooter parts are:

- Accessories - Batteries - Chains - Chargers - Controllers - Throttles

Accessories

There are different kinds of accessories available. A popular choice for a scooter’s bag is a large multi-compartment bag than can be placed onto the rear cargo rack. A good bag would be made of a cloth that is high resistant to abrasions, tears and scuffs. Twin Velcro straps should hold the bag securely onto the seat rail or post.

Baskets are great accessories. Good baskets would be those that fold out of the way when they’re no longer in use. Steel construction is the best with thick enamel finish.

Another accessory you should consider is the safety warning bell. Some bells are made with compasses too. These bells fit all electric scooter and bicycle handlebars. Bells that have a pleasant sound and are audible are advisable.

Most bike motor kit already contains a removable power unit, a mounting rack and mounting hardware. You can also buy this kit in local motorcycle stores.

A good headlight would have side light markers that provide additional illumination in the right and left side of the scooter. This is for visibility during nighttime.

Your helmet should cover the back of your head to protect it from backward falls. It should have an air-gulping front, top and back holes. There should be a thick shock absorbent lining inside the helmet that can be easily removed and replaced for cleaning purposes. Most importantly, helmets should be certified by the ASTM F1447 helmet standards or any country’s helmet standards.

The law on wearing of helmet may differ from state to state. Even though some states don’t require scooter drivers to wear helmets, it is still recommended to wear a helmet no matter how short the distance is.

Don’t forget the mirrors. Additional mirrors are also available as extra electric scooter parts. You can choose a round shaped mirror that is made of chrome plated steel, glass and rubber construction. There should be a safety reflector at the back of the mirror.

Batteries

Batteries can be chosen from a wide range. If you know the voltage, dimensions or amp hours, you will be able to choose what battery should you require.

Chains

For most scooters, the commonly-used chain is #25. This chain has a ” spacing between each chain link and is ” wide.

Chain Breakers

Despite what they’re called, chain breakers don’t break the chain. Their function is to remove the pins that hold the chain links together. Master links are used to connect chains together in a continuous solid loop.

Chargers

Charger for 12 Volts - An “Intellect Charger” works with electric scooters and bikes that have a 12 Volt battery or two 6 Volt batteries.

Controllers

Most Chinese-made scooters have speed controllers already. This part helps control the speed of your scooter from full stop to full forward.

Throttles

The most commonly-used throttle in most electric scooters is the Hall Effect Throttle. They work on Chinese-made electric scooters and are sometimes called accelerators, twist bar, speed bar, turn throttle, speed control or derailleur.

Then, there’s also the on/off throttle. This is used for medium size electric scooters.

Another type of throttle is the 5k Ohm Throttles for high-end and older model electric scooters.

High Definition Video Camera: Why You Should Choose One

Monday, April 7th, 2008
by Antoine Lindz

Ordinary people have been trying to get their hands on a high definition video camera. And you might wonder why and if you should get one for yourself too.

The little significant moments in our life can be recorded because of man’s latest innovation regarding cameras. A birthday, a graduation, a wedding ceremony, a catastrophe, even the birth of a baby animal can now be recorded and captured with the use of HD video cameras.

The good thing about the latest hd video cam models is that they are packed with more features that are user-friendly. These cameras, unlike the other cameras of the past - black and white and unattractive, are one of the must-haves of each person who is interested in keeping memories of real life experiences. Sad to say, it is now time to say goodbye to standard cameras and greet the high definition video cameras with open arms. Owners of SD cameras may now throw away their last season’s purchase and go to the nearest HD video camera store.

The SD Video Cams - Wipe those tears away for your old SD video camera, and don’t look back. Yes, perhaps the SD cameras were once the camcorder T-Rex’s of the 90’s, boasting their colorful quality in high definition television sets. However, as the years passed, customers are now demanding better gadgets everyday -gadgets that aim toward comfort and convenience. And with perfect timing, high definition cameras swooped in the camera industry, and standard definition cameras started to become the thing of the past.

The High Definition Technology - For those of you who are interested in a high definition video camera’s technicalities, you may browse through online sites, brochures or catalogues of famous manufactures such as Sony, Canon, Panasonic, and JVC. These four manufacturers are one of the first few companies that developed the HD video camera during the late 90’s.

HD Camera Reviews - Online websites that focus on camcorders provide an in-depth coverage of specs and ratings of a certain camcorder. Not to mention, a chance to compare prices, specs, advantages and disadvantages. Perfect for helping you decide which brand of high definition video camera you should buy.

Price - Regarding the cost, since HDV cameras have just been released a couple years back. They are still quite pricey compared to the standard cameras used by the public. However, if you think about it in the long run, HDV cameras are a good investment for your videos compared to the SD cameras. Why? These brand new cameras are able to record real-life moments and allow you to watch them in your computers, portable video players, I-pods or television sets.

Many amateur film makers or ordinary individuals may even wish that high definition cameras started way back in the early 60’s or 70’s, wherein so many significant and maybe even historical events took place. But alas, camcorder innovations were only speeded up during the 90’s. However, most of HD video camera buyers were content with their purchase despite the high price and are now able to create videos with quality equivalent to those made in the film industry.

Reverse Cell Phone - Information at your finger tips

Sunday, April 6th, 2008
by Jacques S Eskena

The first cell phone conversation took place in 1973 when Mr. Cooper of Motorola called a rival at AT&T in a very public marketing stunt which took place in a street in New York in front of an unbelieving New York crowd.

Ten years later, Motorola introduced its second generation of cell phone, which at 16 ounce was half the weight of its predecessor. Seven years later, one million Americans were cell phone users.

With more cell phone subscribers today than the “old” land line telephones, the cell phone phenomena has impacted our society and we now have units that weigh in at less than 3 ounces!

From the age of 6 years old and over, every member of today’s families now own their very own cell phones. This is a technology that has truly swept through our world.

Whilst the advantages of giving a cell phone to our younger kids are obvious, it should not be forgotten that there is an element of risk in that predators they meet online might indeed try to call them on their cell phone in order to get to know them better and possibly meet them in person!

Media reports of dire consequences for kids who eventually meet these people unfortunately abound and parents all over the land are understandably concerned and eager to do what they can to prevent this from happening in the first place, and at the very least report these people by calling the police or FBI if it does.

The bad news is that cell phone records are not public information and as such, it is extremely difficult to obtain the name and address of the unauthorized person who is actually calling our kids. What can we do then?

The good news is that once you know which service or website you can confidently access, this information need not cost you an arm and a leg. Indeed you can do a reverse cell phone search for all of $14.95 which barely covers the cost of a movie and pop corn if your kid comes to you for pocket money.

Can You Really Download Zune Movies for Free? Sure You Can!

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008
by Tony Bueler

If you enjoy movies you might want to try downloading them to your Zune. Cinema fans like yourself are constantly searching for a new, more efficient way to acquire and entertain themselves with as much movie entertainment as possible. And many websites have been popping up that promise you can download legal free movies for Zunes.

Fortunately, there actually is a way to download free legal movies to your Zunes. The procedure for downloading zune movies is the same as a music download, just the file size is larger. First you will need to find where to download the movies from in the first place, and you will find that this usually means some sort of subscriber website. With some subscriber accounts, they will change a very nominal one time setup fee and then all subsequent downloads are free. Others will charge for every downloaded. Typically once you are set up on one of these network, you will be downloading movies new and old to your zune with just a few clicks.

And not just movies! There are so many different games you can download to your Zune; sports, action, strategy, puzzles, driving, adventure, simulations and role-playing. The best sites will allow you to download music, games, images, wallpapers, screensavers, and software.

I have not experienced any major problems, although sometimes the downloads are slower than other times - it all depends on the load. Normally fast Loading! Download as many HD-quality movies, songs, and tv shows as you want for your Zune, plus get unlimited access to all the latest Zune downloads as soon as they are released. All the best content for your Zune is just a click away. Get an unlimited access pass and start downloading your favorite videos, music, themes, pictures, and more for your Zune in just a few minutes.

Your favorite TV shows will also be on the network so you will be busy for a long time! Look for your favorite episodes. It is organized pretty well and the Zune download network has been a reliable method for getting fresh content.

And you can’t beat the price. I myself prefer the one time fee and then not have to worry about ‘per download’ charges. If you like the portability and convenience of being able to carry your entertainment with you, then being able to easily download the content into it is a must. And the unlimited movie downloads for your Zune are a big plus.
