One Question To Ask Yourself Before He Proposes

Thursday, January 31st, 2008
by Wendy Bridger

With Valentines Day around the corner, you see the typical gifts stocked in every store. Many women can expect to receive these token gifts: flowers, a box of chocolates, or a card. Some hope for something more meaningful this season: a small jewelry box containing an engagement ring, the symbol of moving their relationship to the next level.

Being proposed to is such a memorable occasion for anyone. My husband surprised me with a traditional military saber arch with him kneeling at the end, with ring in hand, and a simple question that changed my life forever. Even if he wasn’t the one for me, it would have been hard to say no to such a proposal. Accepting it was truly the best choice I have ever made.

Unfortunately, for many, the joy of this event disappears as the hype of the wedding dies down and real life begins. All too often, women forget about another important question they should have answered before they were proposed to: “Is he the one?”

Today, lots of couples choose to slide instead of decide in their relationships. They become acquainted with one another and like each other enough to go out. When nothing better comes along, they continue to stay with each other. After a while, they realize they’ve gotten along okay together and decide to move in together. Sooner or later, they get married for similar reasons. It’s just easier to move the relationship forward than it is to move on and let go, opening the door for a better relationship for the both of them. Through it all, they never stopped to ask, “Is this the right one for me?”

Believe it or not, studies show that those who live together before marriage have a higher chance of divorce. Why? I think it is because of this very reason. Instead of making a conscious decision on their compatibility, these couples slid into marriage by default.

This doesn’t have to be you. As you wait for him to pop the question, take time to an equally important question. Decide if he really is the right one for you. It will make all the difference in how you remember his proposal ten years from now.

How can you honestly know if he’s the right one? You’re heart it too caught up in everything to make any sort of logical decision. And your friends and family all are biased in one way or another. What you need is an impartial process to guide your heart. Unbiased information, compatibility tests combined with an honest evaluation of the relationship is a good way to start answering this question and knowing what to do this February 14th.

Forex Trading Holy Grail, Learn The Secrets Today

Thursday, January 31st, 2008
by Mark Rayner

This is a very special message to everyone searching for the forex trading Holy Grail system. I intend to reveal it in this article. Before I begin, I would like to say that anything worthwhile in life takes time and effort to master. Trying to learn forex is no different

It’s quite common to find traders that don’t make money even when there were plenty of profitable trades. How does this happen? The short answer is they trade through fear, and fear makes you lose focus of the bigger picture. The bigger picture is that you will have losing trades, and you will have winning trades. The fearful trader loses money because they tend to jump in on the loosing trade, get scared, stop trading, and miss the winning trades.

Can you see how the only difference between the winning trader, and the losing trader, is they think differently? One trader learned to not allow the stress of the forex market to control them, the other has not.

If you cannot gain control of your emotional state, your emotional state will control you. Do not underestimate how important this really is.

Everything in Forex trading is based on raw price action, not indicators. Indicators should only be used to help enhance price action. We would not drive a car, just staring at the oil, temperature and speed gauges. They are only helpers; we need to watch the road itself. You need to learn that the forex market moves the way it does due to the battle between traders buying and selling. It goes up when there is more buying demand and it goes down when there is more selling demand.

When you trade, try to think about the other traders in the market. What are they thinking? Institutional players know how to gauge this sentiment, because beginner traders are very predictable. So learn to read the Forex market in this way. Never forget that price is moving because other traders are making it move.

“Never forget that it’s the sum total of the actions of all the traders in the market that drives its movements.”

So now you understand your aim, you just need a good system to help you pull the trigger and take action. Whatever system you choose, it needs to be closely related to price action.

It is important to know how to ‘look from a distance’ when you learn Forex trading. By looking from a distance you can see more. By trading this way you will see what resistance and support levels may stop your trade. You will see what news is about to be released, or has just been released. You will discover that, trading this way will give you peace of mind and more confidence to trade.

You don’t have to be an expert on everything, but you do need to know what may spoil your trade. Most of my losing trades are due to something I missed, not the market.

“Always start your trading session by standing back from everything, and gaining an overall view of the recent market events, and upcoming events”

The road to riches when you learn Forex had nothing to do with a magical system. It has everything to do with; really learning about what drives the market, and slightly more importantly, what drives you.

Squats, Heavy Squats And Squatters (part 1)

Thursday, January 31st, 2008
by Mick Hart

Anyone who tells you they like squats is either genetically gifted, a masochist or a liar. Whilst the act of squatting is as natural as a form of resting or for defecating, to sink into a low squat and then rise with a rounded spine, lifting a heavy weight which crushes into your neck vertebrae is about as natural as most movie starlets mamory glands. Note I am not saying squats don’t work or you should not do them I am just saying for most they are an exercise best gotten over with fast, like having teeth extracted.

One of the all time great squatters would have been the late Paul Anderson who was unofficially crowned the “Worlds Strongest Man”. He once said that he must have done thousands of squats while training but that he had detested every single one of them and went on to say that he could no way understand anyone he said the contrary. It is a sad fact that squats hurt but that they are an essential part of any body-building routine.

For the genetically deformed it may even be pleasurable to do knee bends with a barbell across the back of the neck, aching chest and gasping for breath. If you would like to avoid some of the pain then try rolled up towels around the bar and perhaps don’t dip quite so low, let’s say keep it parallel. You will find it a lot more comfortable and interestingly enough the least suited for this exercise are those who most take up strength training…the skinny guys.

Those ‘naturally’ muscular, bulky or above average in strength rarely seek out to train with weights or if they do seldom stick at it long, and why should they..? The poorly endowed have without a doubt the strongest and longest held desire to gain respectable muscle and strength and once gains are made - appreciate them a whole lot more. George Eiferman could do 150 consecutive squat reps - on one leg?

So first exercise on every build up/bulk schedule has to be squats or some form of knee bends. Some coaches are indeed against heavy squats. Claiming such exercise are the cause of hip/knee joint injuries. Many an old timer rues the day they squatted too heavy or too late in life, causing them pain, including Grimek, who squatted heavy even in his 7O’s. later requiring hip replacements.

Over doing leg wrap while squatting heavy may have negative results on development and strengthening joints. The real purpose of using wraps is to protect but if you over do it, it can lead to weakening of the joints and connective tissues. A competing power lifter may indeed go big on wraps, but there is no doubt that you can lift more with them as well as preventing serious injury.

Development is not the same as power lifting so it would not be advisable to use them. If you have short leg bones which gives better leverage, you could probably squat onto your haunches. As we have mentioned squatting is a natural way to sit, but lifting double our body weight will only put stress on our spinal column and knee joints.

Those who can go so low in squats, or even squat snatches, and arise uninjured are in the minority. Why? Because it just ‘aint natural for most. But please note we are talking about HEAVY squats and will continue to do so in part 2.

Rafting On The Great Nenana River

Thursday, January 31st, 2008
by John Bakers

If you are looking for an adventurous vacation, why not go to Alaska? There are many sights to see and activities to do while you are there. One of the biggest attractions is the Nenana River. In addition to fishing, looking at the beautiful landscapes, and hiking along the banks, whitewater rafting is one activity you should definitely try while on vacation. Over 50,000 people each visit the Nenana River.

Whitewater rafting is one activity that never gets old. Because you will be in a raft with up to six other people, teamwork becomes very important. The Nenana River was created after the ice caps melted. It is a windy river that has some very severe rapids in parts. If you are new to whitewater rafting, you may want to join a rafting excursion that includes a guide. Even though this can cost more than renting a raft for the day, it is much safer alternative to going out there alone on waters you are unfamiliar with.

When contacting rafting companies, make reservations a few months in advance so you will be able to get the dates you want. Rafting trips are very popular and can be booked with months at a time. By scheduling a rafting trip, you can be sure that all safety requirements will be followed. Helmets, life jackets, and protective shoes are often used to help keep you safe on and off the water.

Because of the river’s size, hiring a guide is one way to help you stay on parts of the river that match your skill level. Depending on what you are comfortable with, there are levels suited for beginners, intermediate, and advanced river enthusiasts. When you are looking for a great day of adventure, try white water rafting in addition to the many other activities you can enjoy when on vacation in Alaska.

If you don’t want to hire a guide, you will still have to rent a raft, safety equipment, and make sure you have protective clothing you don’t mind getting wet. Depending on the length of your trip, you may also want to buy a few maps or a small GPS device to help you navigate your way on the river.

It is very important to find a rafting company that provides all the necessary safety equipment for you and your family. Rafting companies are obligated to provide life jackets and give you a quick lesson on how to use the oars, and position your body when you enter into an area that is full of tough rapids. Having a guide will help you find your way along the river.

When you visit Alaska, you will be able to enjoy many other activities besides rafting. These activities include hiking, swimming, fishing, and hunting. If you aren’t into spending the day outdoors, there are many museums you can visit in addition to fine restaurants and night spots.

Do Storage Companies Provide Enough Content Insurance?

Thursday, January 31st, 2008
by Amy Nutt

We all know people who have moving horror stories. Even if a move goes perfectly, it’s bound to be stressful and exhausting. When you’re dealing with large-scale moves, big rental trucks and self storage, the stress compounds even further.

Self-storage facilities generally don’t have that great of a reputation, whether they deserve it or not. Generally, you get what you pay for. If you use the cheapest storage unit you can find, in the seediest part of town, with the scummiest employees imaginable, you might be putting your precious snow globe collection at risk. On the other hand, you might shell out a small fortune for the best climate controlled, 24-hour attended storage unit you can find, and have an accident or theft still occur. Nothing is failure-proof.

If you are storing things like expensive furniture, collections, your best china, imported rugs or anything else that has a lot of value, you might consider purchasing self-storage insurance. Some self-storage units do offer some type of insurance. Before you go out and spend money on an insurance policy, you should be sure you’re not buying coverage you already have.

However, the vast majority of self-storage units have very strict disclaimers that keep them immune from any theft, loss or damage to your property. When you are dealing with a self-storage company, be sure to read the entirety of every single document you sign. You want to be fully aware of the policies that may affect your possessions.

If you don’t feel like your possessions are adequately protected from a disaster or unfortunate event by the self-storage contract, self-storage insurance is a good idea.

Generally, self-storage covers damages or lost property that happens due to burglary, lightning, windstorm, hail, fire, smoke, earthquake, building collapse, explosion, vandalism, riot and water damage.

When you are purchasing your self-storage insurance policy, you will want to read it very carefully. Many insurance policies don’t cover losses due to floods, especially after the massive loss the industry took after the hurricane Katrina disaster.

If you are concerned about flood or tidal wave coverage and your self-storage policy doesn’t provide it, you can contact the U.S. Government and the National Food Program, which does offer flood insurance. If you are storing your things in a sensitive coastal area, this might be a very good idea.

As you navigate the insurance system and choose an appropriate self-storage insurance policy, you will also want to be very aware of what types of possessions are not covered.

For example, one very popular self-storage insurance policy that many friends of mine have used excludes deeds, bills, currency, evidence of debt, securities, money, notes, jewelry, watches, precious stones, furs, boats, vehicles and some business inventory from coverage. That’s a lot of valuable stuff!

If you are storing things such as the items I just mentioned, I recommend not putting them in a storage unit. Luckily, things like the family heirloom jewelry and deeds, bonds and securities are small enough to put in a bank safe deposit box.

Hopefully after reading this, you feel better informed about self-storage insurance. Remember, read anything before you sign it!

Thursday, January 31st, 2008
by William A. Gordon

When it comes to applying the word “designer” to the purchase of checks, it isn’t quite the same as in the world of haute couture, where the latest styles are cranked out by the likes of Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren and Giorgio Armani. Designer checks actually refers more to a straying away from the traditional blue bank check and into the world of almost endless colors, shapes, images and scenes to decorate your financial exchange notes.

The fact is there are so many check designs that it can be overwhelming to narrow down what is possible when you want to purchase exciting checks. I’ve created this overview to give you a look into the main category options and make the journey to a more fun and interesting checkbook a bit more direct.

Sports team checks are a personal favorite. There are NFL team checks, basketball checks for every professional team, major league baseball team checks as well as NHL checks for each city’s team. Beyond the pro teams designer checks can be purchased with images of golfers, bowlers, boats, NASCAR drivers and car and race images.

If you are feeling patriotic you can easily express it in with designer checks. For some it is only natural to have an image of the United States flag, a popular American landmark or a picture a great president on their checks. They are on the money, so why not have them on a designer check as well?

Car lovers are well represented in the world of designer checks. You will find checks with images of many dream cars and beautiful scenes of the cars in action. Motorcycles, including Harley Davidson checks are well represented as well.

It’s also worth mentioning, in case you’re thinking that having just one check design is a limitation, that they check printing companies offer boxes of checks that are groupings of favorite designs. So you can actually have a selection of styles in one checkbooks, so each check you write will have a different design.

If you’re looking for something stylish without having a specific image, there are many fashionable patterns, shapes and colored check designs that can be applied to personal checks. These would range from the most conservative style which would satisfy a traditional taste, to the check designs based on the latest trends from the fashion mavens of Europe.

The last type of designer checks worth mentioning are probably the most fun. These checks cast YOU in the role of the designer! Have a favorite photo from a vacation or your sports team or whatever. The only limit is your imagination.

I hope this quick tour has opened your eyes to the vast world of designer check choices. There really isn’t any excuse for carry those basic blue plain checks from your bank any longer. Oh, and in case you were wondering, most of these fancy designer checks are available for about the same price or less than your bank will charge you for their plain bank checks.

10 Changes To Your Diet That Will Make It 90% Better Instantly

Thursday, January 31st, 2008
by Jayson Hunter RD, CSCS

Most people do not eat like they are supposed to. Out of those people, 95% of them don’t realize that by making 10 simple changes to their eating lifestyle they can improve their diet by 90% along with improving their health and overall well-being.

Apply these changes to your diet today and you too will be experiencing an increased benefit to your health, probable weight loss, a leaner body, and likely improvements to your blood profile. This all equals a longer healthier life.

Now let’s get started so you can benefit from these 10 simple changes that anyone can make immediately.

1. Hydration: Is there a difference? Drink Green Tea or Water instead of calorie filled drinks such as soft drinks. Green Tea has many health benefits and is a powerful antioxidant. You should be drinking 1ml of non-caffeinated fluid for every calorie that you consume. This works out between (8-12) 8oz glasses of Green Tea or Water a day.

2. Benefits of Fiber Recommend consuming 25-35 grams of fiber per day. Since the average diet contains only 14 grams we could all use more fiber. Fiber will help satisfy hunger pangs as well as control insulin and blood sugar levels which tend to promote fat storage when they are elevated. By simply eating at least 1 serving of fruit and vegetables at every meal should get you to the goal of 25-35 grams of fiber per day.

3. The Importance of Protein Eat lean protein sources which include; lean beef, chicken breasts, turkey breasts, salmon, low-fat cottage cheese and other low-fat dairy products, and whey protein powders, at every meal. This will also help control insulin levels and satisfy hunger pangs which tend to promote fat storage. You will find yourself naturally eating less food throughout the day if you eat some type of lean protein at every meal.

4. Frequent Meals: Why? Eat 4-6 small meals day a day instead of the usual 2-3 large meals. Eating frequently will help regulate and boost your metabolism to burn more calories. By also including your protein and vegetables at these meals you will tend to eat less overall thereby reducing your calorie intake.

5. What are Whole Foods? Consume whole foods that are high in fiber and low in sugar such as lean protein (lean beef, chicken, fish, and whey protein), fruits & vegetables (oranges, apples, strawberries, blueberries, broccoli, peppers, asparagus, carrots, nuts (almonds, cashews, & walnuts), and whole grains. Try to minimize processed foods that come in a box or a bag. Instead choose whole grain choices such as whole wheat foods, oatmeals, and vegetables.

6. Healthy Fats: Yes, there are healthy fats Consume adequate amounts of healthy fat foods such as olive oil, walnuts, almonds, or other Omega-3 products. Healthy fats are great antioxidants as well as help with brain function and many other essentials processes that take place in the body on a daily basis. Essential Fatty acids also help prevent certain diseases.

7. Superfoods Include what I call “Superfoods” into your meal plan on a daily basis. These include but not entirely lean meat, salmon, low fat plain yogurt, tomatoes, spinach, mixed berries, whole oats, mixed nuts, olive oil, flax seeds(or flax meal), green tea, and various beans. These are just some of the “Superfoods” you should be incorporating into your daily meal plans.

8. Fat Keep total fat intake under 30% for the day. This can be accomplished by not adding too many extra fats such as butter, sour cream, mayonnaise, etc. This doesn’t mean you have to completely eliminate these items, but do not eat them as a regular food item every day.

9. Food Log: Yes, this is the most important step Record what you eat and drink. You will be amazed at what you consume and not even realize you did it until you right it down and reflect back on the day. Keeping a food log is critical to your success because if modifications need to be made you need something to be able to evaluate and analyze. If changes aren’t happening like you had hoped the answer can usually be found in your food and or exercise journal.

10. Food Labels Review food labels. Avoid foods packed with excess sugar, calories, or foods that contain any trans-fats. You should be looking for more natural foods and not overly-processed foods. Ingredients to look for and avoid or minimize if they are one of the top ingredients listed in the ingredients list: Sugar, High Fructose Corn Syrup and Hydrogenated or Partially Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil.

If you see these ingredients listed at the top then that means the food product is made up of that ingredient as it’s largest source…. it’s the main ingredient.

Now I don’t expect you to make every change in one day. What I do expect is that if you are serious about living a better life and a healthier life then you need to make these changes over the next 4 weeks. The best way to accomplish this task is to map out your plan. Create meal plans and have a plan of attack in place in regards to what you are eating and when.

You will start to see just how easy it is to achieve the goals that you desire and to live a healthier life.

Looking Through A Scary Halloween Mask At The World

Thursday, January 31st, 2008
by Susan West

If you’ve ever been a child who was able to enjoy Halloween, you know that the costumes and especially the masks are part of the fun. What you might not realize, though, is that masks have been a part of every culture since ancient times. They have been used for everything from religious rituals to theater and children’s plays. Today, masks are often used at Halloween, or Samhain. They are also used at masquerade balls, many of which also occur at Halloween. They’re also popular artifacts to bring back from travel to various countries throughout the world

Choosing a mask is done in many ways. Some people like to choose a mask then build the perfect costume around it. Other people like to find a perfect costume then search for the right mask to finish off the look. Either way finding your perfect mask is an important part of accessorizing for Halloween. Choosing the perfect mask should be fun, that is what dressing up is about.

Latex Halloween masks are the most realistic type of masks. With latex you can look like anything from a bug to an alien to your best friend’s mother or even her dog. You can dress up like fictional characters with the right masks. There are as many possibilities as you can imagine. Masks add a bit of mystery, especially a good mask. A good mask will make it impossible for your friends and family to recognize you.

If you’re looking for something scary, Halloween masks are an especially good way to impersonate a monster. You can choose anything from creepy clowns to masks of characters and popular movies such as those of the Halloween original and sequels. You can even impersonate a mummy or the walking dead. So go ahead, get as ghoulish as you want. Again, if a less scary character is more to your liking, you can impersonate everybody from Ronald Reagan to your favorite television character.

There are also witches, wizards, pirates and Mardi Gras masks. Old men and women masks are also popular as well as going to a haunted house wearing a Game Face sports ball mask. Although, you may also choose a Halloween mask that is not so frightful such as queens, kings, princess, angels, fairies, unicorns and dragons.

Therefore, you see there are many different kinds of Halloween masks such as these and so many more. Whether you choose to wear a theater mask or a bush mask, you will be able to enjoy October 31 while wearing your favorite holiday fashions as you masquerade about on All Hallows Eve.

You may be interested to know the most popular Halloween masks for children last year were, Princess, Pirates, Witch, Spider-Man, Superman and Disney Princess as well as Power Rangers, Pumpkins, Cats and Vampires. The most popular masks for adults last year were the Witch, Pirate, Vampire, Cat, Clown as well as the Fairy, Gypsy, Superhero, Ghost and Ghoul. This means that there is a wide variety of choices on the market when considering a Halloween mask and accessories. However, you should also keep in mind that if you wait to long that all the great Halloween masks will be picked over quickly, so if you are in the mood for celebrating Halloween by wearing a mask, you should start early.
